his is our second year to present a collaborative effort between musical and visual artists that exemplifies Swallow Hill’s mission to preserve, teach, and present folk and roots music. The single element unique to folk music is making music for each other. All world cultures have a proud history of folk music. These diverse traditions, in turn, influence other musical and visual art forms. In this exhibit we see this process
illustrated through each artist’s eyes.
Celebrating our 26th year as a Denver nonprofit organization serving the Front Range, Swallow Hill Music Association continues to be the regional anchor for folk, roots and acoustic music. Our gift to the community continues to be our world-class Julie Davis Music School and our ongoing concert programs showcasing major touring artists and new and local musicians. Each year, we present more than 200 concerts to an audience of more than 45,000 and offer musical instruction to well over 3,500 students with our music faculty of more than 65 outstanding instructors.
The Artists in Resonance project underlines the idea of putting “fun in fundraising.” We owe a deep debt of gratitude to the artists who have contributed their art, as well as to the committee of outstanding Board members, staff and volunteers who have worked many long hours to make this project possible.
As our world and its cultures become smaller, music and visual art grow more important as a means of enhancing understanding and respect among the folk who inhabit this little planet. We thank all of you who are doing your part to keep folk music and art alive.
Please consider acquiring one or more of these unique works of art and thereby supporting Swallow Hill and its mission.
